Like I said, previously, I'm writing a series of articles on the subject of architecture. InformIT just published one of them, entitled How Value-Stream-Oriented Architecture Can Help You Create Better Software. That's the first step, and it was the thing that convinced me that you can do architectural-style work in a value-driven way.
